The XX {Crystalized} and a bit of philosophy…

I am kind of in love with this band. They are a pop group that hails from London, England. Music from their debut album, XX, has been placed all over television both here and in the U.K.

The XXs album hasn’t broken any record sales by far, but has on other accounts achieve commercial success. In an industry where even your favorite talents barely go gold, because yearly record sales are but a fraction of what they used to be,  it is time to redefine commercial success. The use of a band’s music in forums as largely witnessed as AT&T commercials and episodes of Grey’s Anatomy are both invaluable and financially fruitful (at least to the songwriter/composer and publisher).

Sam and Ruby {Press On}

Sam & Ruby On Songwriting

Sam & Ruby are a Pop-Folk duo from Nashville, TN. Early this year they released a six track EP entitled Press On. I really like the track “Never Surrender.”

Them Crooked Vultures {Mind Eraser, No Chaser}

Interesting Fact: Them Crooked Vultures features drumming by David Grohl, formerly of the Foo Fighters.

Sidenote: This websites name was not, in any way, derived from the band’s name.
