The Noisettes: Wild Young Hearts

The Noisettes are a London bred pop trio led by front lady Shingai Shoniwa. The latest album by The Noisettes is entitled Wild Young Hearts. It tends to time travel. For example the title track “Wild Young Hearts” is akin to Frankie Lymon’s “Why Do Fools Fall In Love” where “Saturday Night” is clearly a pop/disco track.
The Wild Young Hearts hit the shelves in September of 2009 and should definitely be checked out. Below are two of the album’s singles.

The54: Dominate
The 54 is an Indie Alternative Rock band from Atlanta. I heard about them a while ago, but was finally able to see them live on Janelle Monáe’s Atlanta stop of the ArchAndroid tour.
The band consists of four members. Mike Jones on drums, Walter Chastang on lead guitar/vox, Mercury Jackson on bass/vox and guitarist and lead vocalist Enye Willingham.
The54 knows how to put on a show. It was electrifying. All of the musical elements gelled so well; the band’s chemistry is evident. They should be on your watch list.
Below is the video for the title track of their album Dominate, which I purchased on Monday. Also, the impromptu “Waffle House Jam” and album track ”Crazy” which I like as well. Partake!

Sincerely Jane ATL: My Janelle Monáe Concert Experience
On April 5th and 6th I had the pleasure of attending the concerts of one of my favorite artists Janelle Monáe. My uber fandom is not a secret. Actually, I usually broadcast it to everyone with statements like, “Have you heard of Janelle Monáe? Oh you haven’t? [whips out iPod] Let me play you a song.”
I haven’t crossed a song I didn’t like. (My compliments to the chef.)
Depending upon which night you decided to attend you were privy to either Metropolis Suite 2 of Suite 3 which have been combined to make Monáe’s first full length album The ArchAndroid. Not only was this a very thoughtful marketing ploy to get fans to attend both concert dates (both dates sold out), it also provided concert goers with an air of mystique and exclusivity providing each date with a unique concert experience.
The Chasemasters (fans of Ms. Monáe and #58721) were ballooned, feathered, and silly-strung. Fun³. And for those of us who were apart of this “transformative” experience on the 6th were able to tip on the tightrope with Sir Lucious Leftfoot.
Yup, I enjoyed myself. Catch a show in a city near you.
